The Community Mobilizer carries out field work in order to mobilize communities and provide support to program management and other team members for the effective and efficient implementation of the program and other activities. He/she is also responsible for networking and coordination with other stakeholders as well as data collection and reporting of activities.
Integrated WASH and Livelihoods Response project is localized in Hajja governorate and aims to meet some of the basic life-saving needs and Improve living conditions of displaced populations and host communities in the targeted areas.
Responsibilities and Tasks
Capacity Building of targeted groups
• Provide capacity building support to village communities (and others as requested) and to encourage local management.
• Prepare, coordinate and participate all in-house professional development activities, meetings and planning sessions
• Participate in activities relevant to the emergency program as per approval by Program assistant.
• Organize awareness and advocacy sessions for the community regarding the program and its implementation
Planning and Monitoring Field Work
• Conduct field visits to monitor the implementation of activities and to propose remedial actions as needed.
• Gather and analyze necessary program information and data.
• Document the program, field experiences and lessons learned.
• Prepare periodical progress reports as requested about achieved activities, challenges and obstacles for remaining activities and suggested solutions and recommendations.
• Ensure transparent implementation of all field based activities and provides a conduit for suggestions and feedback from the communities to program and senior CARE management.
Provide Training support
• Develop training material as needed.
• Work closely with local partners for the purpose capacity building and sharing information.
• Communicate to stakeholders while collecting feedback on trainings.
• Implement and participate in different baseline assessments and monitoring studies.
Other Office duties
• Develop and organize all data, files and documents.
• By coordination with technical team to develop appropriate forms to collect all the information/data throughout programs period to measure of intervention’s impact towards the target households/beneficiaries.
• Demonstrate gender sensitivity and show support and respect to all team members
• Responsible for the confidentiality and security of data, documents and resources
• Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Education/Training
Required
• Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Education, Social Sciences, Economics or related field
Experience
Required
• Experience in community mobilization and capacity building
• 2-3 years community work experience, preferably related to the type of program’s projects.
• Reasonable experience in the monitoring and evaluation process.
• Good experience in dealing with the host communities and Internal Displaced Persons (IDPs)
Desired
• Excellent skills in monitoring implementation of program activities
Technical Skills
Required
• Excellent communication verbally and in writing and inter-personal skills
• Ability and willingness to travel regularly to field sites including overnight staying if required.
• A team player, willing to work long hours toward the attainment of program objectives and deliverables.
• Fluency in written and spoken Arabic, knowledge of English is desirable
• Good computer skills
