CARE International in Yemen is currently seeking for a Training Officer for the CARE Building Community Resilience – Food security& livelihood support program in Abyan and Lahjj which is funded by WFP and will be implemented through the partnership of two International  Organization, CARE  in leading and DRC. The program seeks to address food insecurity in the target governorates by providing food-insecure households with food and/or cash-based safety nets.

Training Officer (Aden with travel to Abyan & Lahj) 
Location: Aden, Yemen 

Duties:
The purpose of the Training Officer is to design and develop training courses/manuals with regard to WASH, nutrition, livelihood and another sectors based on the communities requirements that will identified through surveys in the targeted areas. S/He will be responsible to train some members of community (ToT) to deliver and disseminate the awareness messages among target beneficiaries. Additionally, the incumbent is responsible for the monitoring of trainer’s performance, trainees interplay and then amending, revising training (implementation mechanism, facilities…etc) as necessary. On the other hand, S/He evaluates the effectiveness of training delivered using surveys questionnaires, interviews and by observation, in order to plan future courses based on the changes occurring in the context.

Responsibilities:
Planning and Monitoring Field Work 
•    To select some members of target communities based on specific criteria to be trainers for carrying out the training courses among the target beneficiaries
•    By close coordination with WASH officer , livelihood officer and other relevant governmental sides to identify, the messages, courses and facilities that should be presented to the targeted beneficiaries under FFT component  through conducting rapid survey and consultation with target communities. 
•    By close coordination with WASH officer, livelihood officer to prepare the training plan including aspects, mechanism, timescales, and objectives.     
•     To maintain effective communication with to project officers and WASH officer to establish training needs.
•    To liaise with project team, specially project officers and project manager to agree timescales and costs, or to escalate issues arising regarding training courses and dissemination of messages. 
•    Where appropriate, to accompany members of staff on site to evaluate training courses in order to facilitate progress monitoring
•    Oversee the delivery of training to the groups of community’s beneficiaries.
•    Monitor and review the progress of trainees through questionnaires and other appropriate tools 
•    To help field officers and trainers to solve specific training problems.
•    To evaluate the effectiveness of training and modify materials as appropriate 
•    To ensure that activities are in line with project objectives.  
•    To ensure training provision meets community requirements and is evaluated appropriately.
•    To acquire feedback on the courses needed for future planning

Provide Training support 
•    To provide high quality training courses in the field of ToT to chosen people who will be responsible to conduct training courses among the  beneficiaries with regard to WASH, nutrition, livelihood and another sectors.
•    To design training materials that reflect beneficiaries needs taking in account the cultures and education of the beneficiaries and ability of community trainers. 
•    To develop and maintain training materials to the highest standards for the intended fields.
•    To ensure that training requirements are adequately specified and documented 
•    Perform other duties as assigned

Required

•    Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Education, Social Sciences, Economics or related field
•    Minimum of 3 years in a technical training delivery role is essential.
•    Experience of designing, delivering and maintaining training materials is essential.  
•    Excellent computer skills, with a full knowledge of Microsoft Office.
•    Team working skills 
•    Effective training and presentation skills
•    Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
•    organizational skills
•    planning and time management skills
•    the ability to encourage and motivate people
•    negotiating and influencing skills
•    Fluency in Arabic and Very good written and spoken English language skills
•    Ability to manage stress, problem solving and decision making
