CTED is an international, non-profit development and humanitarian organization working in over 30 countries worldwide. Our interventions seek to cover the multiple aspects of humanitarian and development crises through a multidisciplinary approach. ACTED Yemen is currently recruiting a qualified Food security and Livelihoods trainer for its project in Al Jawf/Saddah.
The Database assistant position functions under two hierarchic supervisors. In terms of day to day management he/she is managed and supervised by the FSL Coordinator and GIS/database officer in Sanaa, and at a higher level under the Area Coordinator.
Responsibilities
• Oversee the flow of information related to beneficiaries for all projects in Al Jawf
• Receive and input data from original beneficiary lists into database
• Conduct data management control to ensure the quality of data and outputs produced for reporting and monitoring purposes
• Assist field teams in carrying out project activities in the governorates of Al Jawf/Saddah as requested
• Send updated project databases bi-monthly to Sanaa database
• Liaise with Sanaa GIS/database officer and program team as needed to problem-solve and discuss progress
• Actively engage and think of innovative ways to improve data processes
• General support in any other project activities
• Perform other duties requested by her/his direct supervisor.
Qualifications & skills:
• A degree in Computer Science, Information Management or Database Management Systems
• Minimum one year experience in database management, preferably with knowledge of the data processes used in the humanitarian sector (e.g. impact monitoring)
• Excellent computer literacy, notably with various database software (e.g. Microsoft Excel, Access); experience with GIS software a plus
• Previous experience with an NGO
• Fluency in Arabic and good English skills, both oral and written
• Good interpersonal skills required, as well as the ability to communicate clearly and efficiently with a variety of audiences (e.g. other team members)
• Applicants should be self-starters with the ability to work efficiently under pressure and with minimal supervision, manage multiple tasks, and meet short deadlines
• Applicants should be excellent team players, and be willing to work in a multi-cultural team, displaying cultural sensitivity and a sound understanding of gender
• Travel to the field at short notice may be required
Remuneration
This position has the following Net salary: $666 USD
Duration:
6 months- Renewable
