The Norwegian Refugee Council has approximately 4000 committed and competent employees involved in projects across four continents. In addition, NRC runs one of the world’s largest standby rosters -NORCAP, with 650 professionals, ready to be deployed on 72 hours notice when a crisis occurs.
The Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) is an International NGO with regional competence and expertise in working with displaced populations. The Regional Office is based in Nairobi, Kenya with offices and operations in Somalia (Puntland, Somaliland and Mogadishu), Kenya (Dadaab, Kakuma and Molo), Ethiopia (Addis Ababa, Dolo Ado, Shire and Asosa) and Yemen (Sana’a ,Aden and Haradh).
The main purpose of this position is to contribute to the start-up of the Food Security Program and the achievement of NRC’s objectives in Yemen under the guidance of the Food Security Project Manager and be responsible for the supervision and execution of Food Security project in Yemen.

Job description
• To supervise and train the FSL project team focusing on efficient planning, coordination, implementation and monitoring and evaluation (M&E) of the project activities.
• To plan and follow the activities of the project with the team such as field assessments, market price monitoring, distribution and redemption of voucher for Voucher Transfer activities, distribution of livelihood inputs (agricultural seeds & tools and/or IGA materials) and implementation of trainings for food production and IGA development for Livelihood activities.
• To ensure the proper project implementation according to the Operational and M&E Plan.
• To participate actively in the monitoring of the project in collaboration with the M&E team with a specific attention on the efficiency and appropriateness of the Cash/Voucher Transfer system, the project commodity movements (order, procurement, delivery, storage, transport, distribution and utilization) and the market price monitoring.
• To conduct regular meetings with beneficiaries, community management committees, local authorities and partners on the cash/voucher transfer, distribution arrangements, food production and IGA development and other relevant issues.
• To coordinate the implementation of the project activities at the local level, in close collaboration with the communities, partners and local authorities.
• To represent NRC in FSL Sector and Cluster meetings when appropriate.
• To conduct project team coordination meeting on weekly and monthly basis and prepare weekly, biweekly and monthly reports and also assessment reports as appropriate.
• To work on the partnership between local organizations and the project.
• To assist the FS PM in the identification of new projects and new areas of intervention.
• To assist the project staff and partners in encouraging and sensitizing public opinion on Protection issues and Rights focused activities.
• To carry out any additional study or task.
Qualifications
• Bachelor degree preferably in agriculture, agro-economy, economy, nutrition, social sciences, development studies or other relevant discipline.
• Minimum of 3 years’ relevant working experience with at least 2 years with a humanitarian program in a similar position.
Education level
• College / University, Bachelor's degree
