In Yemen, the IRC is implementing an integrated WASH, Health, Nutrition and Reproductive Health program.
The IRC is seeking a dynamic and experienced a professional Nutritional officer to provide technical support to integrated programs implemented in Aden governorates. The position in based in Aden 

 Essential Job Functions:
This position is to provide nutritional technical services in the Outpatient Therapeutic Program (OTP) and support the activities of the Stabilization Center of the nutrition program, as part of a larger primary health care intervention that includes maternal and child health and environmental health. 
The nutritional officer leads IRC’s nutrition team in the running of all aspects of the therapeutic feeding program, in both the in-patient and out-patient setting.
The nutritional officer will be reporting to the nutrition Manager, Aden.


Main duties and responsibilities
•    Assess and monitor trends in the nutrition situation of children in Aden and Abyan and make technical recommendations for appropriate interventions and ensure high quality of CMAM and IYCF services.
•    Provide nutritional treatment for those children with acute malnutrition according the CMAM national protocol
•    At the field level, provide possible analysis to the nutritional situation and its relation to other sectors especially WASH, Health and food security.
•    Jointly organize and prepare training schedule, materials and venues with project manager and SMoH counterpart
•    Conduct specific nutrition training for nutrition, health staff and community health workers (CHWs) in CMAM & IYCF
•    Participate in design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of nutrition activities to ensure achievement of objectives. 
•    Ensure that the program’s activities are well running and are meeting the CMAM standards/protocols
•    Be able to assess nutrition sector’s ability to respond to the nutritional needs of acutely malnourished children and make recommendations to the IRC on how to best respond to those needs. 
•    Supervise the rational use of the resources injected in to the program (Therapeutic food, medicines, non food items…) and provide updated report regularly.

•    To report on the field CMAM activities on weekly and monthly basis, by compiling the field reports using the standards format and submitting it to the Nutrition Program Manager to enable early forecasting for nutritional supplies.
•    To be an active supervisory team member during the nutrition survey, contributing in the planning, implementation and data analysis using appropriate nutrition soft ware as well as the reporting
•    To assist the Nutrition Program Manager in other office tasks on request.

 Qualifications of successful candidate

1.    University degree in Medicine desirable in Public Health or a related technical field.  Knowledge and skills in designing and implementing appropriate and effective holistic nutrition interventions
2.    Analytical skills that demonstrate an understanding of the current concepts, priorities, and issues in monitoring, data collection and evaluation
3.    Ability to work collaboratively with other departments within IRC, health facilities and other organizations
4.    professional work experience in project administration, including data collection and analysis, ideally pertaining to Nutrition Program
5.     Experience in Epi Info and ENA for SMART essential, working knowledge of other statistical packages (e.g. STATA, SPSS, etc) an advantage. IPC experience is desirable
6.    Experience of capacity building, staff training and mentoring
7.    Strong communication skills, including excellent English and Arabic (spoken and written).
8.    Strong skills in reporting, including narrative writing and data analysis
9. Experience of a flexible approach to managing and prioritizing a high workload and multiple tasks in a fast paced environment with tight deadlines
