Position Title Telecom Technician
Department / Location Fiance - Balhaf
Minimum Requirements Qualifications: University degree of Telecommunication or equivalent such as Electronics, Photonics. At least 4 years of progressively responsible telecommunications systems experience in the following areas: ? CCTV systems (analog and digital) using FO, copper, Ethernet for fixed and PTZ. ? TCP/IP communication with ability to configure and troubleshoot IP devices. ? Access control systems configuration, operation and maintenance of subsystems (rolling gates, turnstiles, badge readers, remote central controllers, etc.. ) ? Anti-intrusion/ detection systems configuration, operation and maintenance of such system components. Any additional experience in the other fields of telecoms are preferred Administrative work experience or, an equivalent combination of training, education and experience, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position. Job Specific Skills: Reading and comprehending technical manuals, manufacturer’s specifications, and troubleshooting guides used in the installation and reparation of all communications equipment. Using electronic test equipment and documentation (e.g. spectrum analyzer, service monitors, time domain reflect meters, field strength meters, digital and analog meter displays, etc.) to diagnose telecommunications equipment problems and effect repairs, or to ensure proper performance of telecommunications equipment Working with others to accomplish tasks when required. The use, care and selection of appropriate hand tools.
Descriptions Telecom technician will perform his duties at Balhaf, Sana’a, along pipeline Yemen LNG sites on all the Yemen LNG telecom systems based on a large range of communication technologies: - PBX (Main and remote shelves, IP phones, digital and analog sets …) - Thuraya devices - Inmarsat stations for Security and pipeline operations - Radio system (UHF Trunk with PBX interface and conventional networks, VHF air and Marine, HF, base transmitters and handled radios …) - Paging system (Transmitter, pagers, paging keyboards, interface with PBX …) - CCTV (Fixed and PTZ cameras including Explosion proof and infrared cameras in classified areas and in pipeline lock valve station, optical fiber convertors, telemetry boards, PTZ motors and enclosures, water pumps, users’ stations …) - Video and audio conference systems in meeting rooms - TCP/IP LAN (edge switches) - Access Control (Rolling gates, road barriers, turnstiles, badge readers, managed doors locking devices, remote central controllers …) - General alarm (Main units, amplifiers, loudspeakers …) - Entertainment (Internet, TV, Video gateway, IPTV servers, Digital Subscriber Line Network in Camp rooms) - Radar X and S band with associated remote displays. - Radar transponder - Hotline network between Control and Emergency Crisis rooms - Intercom devices in offices and plant classified area. - Pipeline Open Transport Network system (2.5 Gbps redundant node based network) - VSAT for data and voice - Anti-intrusion / detection systems on Balhaf and all along the pipeline - Camps siren with remote panel - Interconnection of Yemen LNG with external networks - Telecom infrastructure: o Copper cabling in plant, camps, buildings and pipeline o Optical fiber networks in plant, camps, buildings and pipeline o Telecom masts.
