Position: MOBILE TEAM LEADER
Location: Zahra, Lahaya district (Hodeida) and Alqabeta district (Lahj). (with 100% travel to the target communities)
Reporting to: Nutrition Officer

Background:  
The Development Program Division closely works with country program team in identifying, planning, implementing, monitoring and evaluating development projects and program in collaboration with local, national and international partners. 
It focuses on the Recovery and Development of strategic areas and support communities to develop a sustainable livelihood, coherent Islamic micro finance system, food security, water sanitation, social cohesion and community based infrastructure projects to support communities affected by conflict, civil war, natural and man-made disasters. The overall objectives of the development division are to alleviate poverty and suffering of human kinds   by providing them with long term sustainable program in collaboration with international donors, INGOs and UN agencies.

Detailed Duties and Responsibilities

Job Responsibility #1: Ensure the effective implementation of the mobile team activities and team management
•    Ensure the smooth implementation of the mobile team activities defined by the Nutrition Officer in coordination with the Logistics and Administration departments
•    Plan and organise TFP and SFP at designated distribution sites in liaison with the Nutrition Officer.
•    Work closely with the Mobile team staffs to ensure all aspects of the programme are understood and agreed and appropriate referrals take place between the project components.
•    Prepare plan of action for effective Mobile activities in the target district in consultation with the Nutrition Officer
•    Supervise the activities of the Mobile team members (Wid-wife and OTP nurse)
1.    Work closely with the teams to ensure all children are measured correctly
2.    Ensure all criteria are respected and understood by the teams, including admission, discharge and transfer between programme components.
3.    Ensure comprehensive health checks and treatment according to the protocols
4.    Review the forms completed by staff to ensure completion, accuracy and coherence
•    Work with the community health volunteers, ensure engagement of community leaders, key community figures, community groups and traditional healers / TBAs in facilitating the treatment of malnourished children and PLW through the OTP and SFP 
•    Ensure adequate availability of all medical and food supplies and ensure stock is pre-positioned as planned by discussing with the Nutrition Officer.
•    Calculate the quantity of therapeutic foods such as plumpy nut required for each distribution based on the number of children admitted in OTP and SFP
•    Follow-up and provide feedback to the Nutrition Officer on the amount and quality of the treatment supplies if it does not comply with specified quality standards.
•    Report on progress and any problems in a timely manner
•    Ensure cases not meeting admission criteria return home as early as possible and understand why their child is not admitted
•    Through liaison with the community health volunteers, provide effective follow up of all cases: particularly tracing of children who are absent from the programme, sick children, long stay children, children not gaining weight, and children with social problems etc.
•    Development of fact sheets and other training materials as required for the CHV under the guidance of Nutrition Officer.
•    Provide key health and education messages to beneficiaries according the protocol and guidelines
•    Respond to inquiries regarding the technical aspects of the program admission and discharge whenever necessary at the TFP sites.
•    Providing CHV with technical support in convening meetings and answering questions on topics relevant to the project as necessary.
•    Follow-up and ensure the mobile team interacts with the beneficiaries properly
•    Re-define team composition as necessary – either during distributions (to avoid bottle-necks) or after discussion during team meetings
•    If there is a problem, find out what is wrong and find a solution or else contact your immediate supervisor
•    Perform any other duties requested by the Nutrition Officer

Job Responsibility #2: Supervise activities at TFP
•    Ensure the medical protocols are implemented in line with the CMAM protocols
•    Strengthen the capacity of the mobile team members through training, review meeting and up to date feedback.
•    Make sure the therapeutic food commodities are delivered to the appropriate beneficiaries.
•    In close collaboration with the Nutrition Officer, monitor the effectiveness of the mobile team activities according to stated project objective and desired results.
•    Work closely with the teams to ensure all children are measured correctly
•    Ensure all criteria are respected and understood by the teams, including admission, discharge and transfer to and from the various components of the programme
•    Ensure comprehensive health checks and treatment according to the agreed protocols
•    Monitor RUTF rations and ensure they are distributed as per the guidelines
•    Review the forms completed by staff to ensure completion, accuracy and coherence
•    Facilitate information and lessons sharing with other partners and agencies at the local level.
•    Ensure proper utilization of resources and accountability to the programme.
•    Generate ideas to strengthen the implementation of the Mobile Team activities.
•    Ensuring adherence to and respect of the national protocols
•    Compile the statistical data and draft a report on activities
•    Follow-up of supplies consumption and orders
•    Ensuring that stock levels are sufficient for the functioning of the Mobile Team (daily, weekly, monthly or quarterly)
•    Document lessons learned and best practices at the project level

Job Responsibility #3: Network and coordinate with the relevant sectors
•    Establish good relationship with the District authorities and community leaders
•    Establish a network with the other actors in the working area (I/NGO)
•    Establish a good understanding of the program within the community
•    Establish link and meetings with the community leaders and different group existing in the working area.


Requirements: 
•    BSc/diploma in Nutrition or related field (nursing/medical qualification desirable.
•    At least two years of experience in community based emergency nutrition intervention preferably CMAM 
•    Good interpersonal and communication skills.
•    Good in English and fluent in Arabic.
•    Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.
•    Previous experience working for NGOs an asset
•    Ability and willingness to travel and work in rural areas.   
•    Familiarity with program area is highly desired
•    Computer literate, especially MS Word and Excel
