The ICRC is looking for a suitable candidate to fill the position of
Assistant to the Head of Aden Sub-Delegation
Based in Aden
Main tasks
• Assists the Head of Sub-Delegation (HoSD) in the overall running of ICRC’s activity in southern governorates of Yemen.
• Contributes to ICRC’s security assessment and management in southern governorates of Yemen.
• Monitors the humanitarian, socio-political and economic situation in southern governorates of Yemen and advises the HoSD accordingly.
• Maintains and develops ICRC’s humanitarian dialogue with relevant interlocutors under the supervision of HoSD.
• Contributes to the design, implementation and follow-up of ICRC humanitarian activity in the Southern governorates.
• Produces timely and high-quality written internal reporting.
• Initiates pieces of written correspondence addressed to ICRC’s interlocutors.
• Carries out oral and written interpretation or translations from Arabic to English and vice versa.
Selection requirements
• University degree
• 4 to 6 years of experience in a similar field
• Fluent in written and spoken English
• Very good analytical skills
• Very good computer skills
• Strong communication & negotiation skills
• Team leadership skills
• Ability to work autonomously
