The ICRC is looking for suitable candidate to fill the position of
Health Field Officer
Based in Saada
Main tasks:
• Analyses the health situation in defined areas, discusses the results with the superior and proposes and/or adapts needed action
• Assists the ICRC Health Delegate in running ICRC PHC activities in identified areas, with a specific focus on implementation and follow-up of PHC project in the area of Amran Governorates
• Organises and implements First Aid training courses for different groups with the support of ICRC colleagues
• Assesses PHC RH needs and makes proposals on improving on the same.
• Organises and implements midwifery training together with Reproductive Health (RH) focal person
• Active participation with on the job training and coaching of midwives in ICRC supported facilities
• Participates with emergency responses in the field
• Assists the Health Delegate by participating in meetings with interlocutors. Maintains contact with interlocutors in Amran Governorate and develops a health network in collaboration with the Health Delegate
• Participate to the organizations of seminars
• Contributes to develop, implement, run and follow-up ICRC and MoPHP health projects;
• Contributes to maintain contacts with authorities, religious leaders, civil society and NGOs.
• Replaces other Field Officers whenever necessary.
• Provides support to the field activities in any sub delegation whenever needed (support for a specific activity, replacement of a staff on holidays or duty…)
• Coordinates with all departments in Sub delegation to ensure integrated approach to all activities within the region.
• Follow health care in danger project, in general and more particularly in the Amran Governorate.
Selection requirements:
• A medical doctor with 3 years Primary Health related experience and specializing in Reproductive Health
• Arabic mother tongue and fluent in written and spoken English
• Excellent knowledge of Yemeni health system and in particular the Amran and Saada Governorates
• Excellent analytical and communication skills
• Able to use Microsoft office efficiently
• Team leadership skills, with interest in teaching and facilitation of the learning process
• Experience working with an International Organization is an asset
